King-Wa Fu Talk on Social Media and Social Engagement

Dr. King-wa Fu, Associate Professor at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre, The University of Hong Kong, paid a 3-day visit to the United Nations University Institute on Computing and Society (UNU-CS). During his visit, Dr. Fu gave a talk to the UNU-CS research team titled “Social Media and Social Engagement”, where he presented the portfolio of research projects in which he and his team are working, including social media analytics in China, online public opinion in Hong Kong, health-related topics such as mental health/suicide and infectious diseases, digital citizenship, and Twitter and network analysis. His research is of great interest for the UNU-CS researchers, in particular his work and methodology on Facebook analysis in terms of polarization or cyber balkanization.
