Dr. Moon Choi, from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), visited the United Nations University Institute in Macau from Tuesday, April 18 to Monday, April 24 to explore research collaboration opportunities. Dr. Choi is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy where she specializes in gerontology and technology and has published in the areas of senior transportation and health disparities in later life with a focus on gender and racial inequality. Dr. Choi founded and runs the Aging and Technology Policy Lab (AT Policy Lab).
During her visit she gave a talk on “Sustainable Development Goals in an Aging World,” in which she presented an overview of her work in social gerontology at the AT Policy Lab, highlighting potential areas of overlap with ongoing work at UNU Institute in Macau. She also teamed up with Principal Research Fellow and focal point of the Gender Tech Lab, Dr. Araba Sey, to design a research project that examines issues of gender, aging, and ICTs. Dr. Choi, along with two of her students, will return to UNU Institute in Macau in July 2017 for further collaboration on the research project. Araba will follow up with a visit to KAIST in August 2017.
