Yingqin Zheng Seminar on Social Media and Collective Action

    Dr. Yingqin Zheng, Senior Lecturer at the Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL), is visiting the United Nations University Institute in Macau. Dr. Zheng is a leading figure with the ICT4D Centre at RHUL, where she is based in the School of Management. She has published widely and is one of the top cited ICT4D scholars. On Tuesday, July 5th, 2016, Dr. Zheng delivered a seminar in the UNU Institute in Macau Board room entitled “Affordances of social media in collective action: the case of Free Lunch for Children in China”. She presented the socialized affordances of social media in the processes of collective action, exploring the role of technology in the under-researched area of civil society.
